WPL 2027: Complete players’ list of all teams after the mini auction
WPL 2027 Squads Complete After Mini Auction: Sophie Molineux Leads the Bidding
All five franchises have finalised their squads for the upcoming Women’s Premier League season after the mini auction in Kochi on October 28. A pool of 150 players entered the auction, but with just 27 vacancies available across the teams, competition for contracts was intense. Most sides had retained their core players before the event, leaving only a handful of opportunities for new signings.
Australia captain Sophie Molineux attracted the auction’s highest bid, joining UP Warriorz for INR 1.10 crore. Delhi Capitals’ Kiran Navgire was the next most expensive signing at INR 75 lakh. While those headline bids drew attention, many franchises focused on value, filling their remaining places with players at the base price of INR 10 lakh.
UP Warriorz make the biggest moves
UP Warriorz were among the busiest teams in the auction, adding eight players to their squad. Molineux was the marquee acquisition, while experienced India internationals Sneh Rana and Sushma Verma also joined for INR 30 lakh each. The franchise further strengthened its options with Grace Harris, Asha Sobhana, Kathryn Bryce, Sahana Pawar and Manali Dakshini.
The mix gives UP Warriorz a range of choices across the batting, bowling and all-rounder departments. Molineux brings leadership and left-arm spin, while Rana adds experience in Indian conditions. The depth could prove important over a demanding league campaign, where teams often need to adjust combinations to suit different grounds and match situations.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru retain their championship core
Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) entered the auction with a relatively small number of places to fill. After defeating Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2026 final, the franchise focused on adding depth rather than making wholesale changes. RCB signed four players: Australian all-rounder Jess Jonassen for INR 40 lakh, Chloe Tryon and Tejal Hasabnis for INR 30 lakh apiece, and Vrinda Dinesh for INR 10 lakh.
RCB’s limited recruitment reflects the strength of the group they already have. Their squad includes captain Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, and a varied bowling unit featuring Ellyse Perry, Lauren Bell, Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil. The key prediction for RCB will be whether their retained core can maintain its title-winning form while the new additions provide reliable cover and fresh tactical options.
Mumbai Indians use a budget-conscious approach
Mumbai Indians signed six players at INR 10 lakh each, using their remaining auction budget carefully. Their new recruits are Disha Kasat, Latika Inamdar, Bharti Rawal, Saanika Chalke, Shweta Sehrawat and Akshita Bhagat. The franchise had also brought Tara Norris into its squad through a trade with UP Warriorz before the auction.
Rather than pursue a high-priced signing, Mumbai focused on increasing squad depth and creating competition for places. That approach leaves the team with more options across the season, particularly if injuries or changes in form require adjustments. With established stars such as Harmanpreet Kaur, Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr already in the squad, the new arrivals will have the chance to complement a strong existing core.
Delhi Capitals land the second-biggest signing
Delhi Capitals secured Kiran Navgire for INR 75 lakh, the second-highest price of the auction. They also added Kashvi Kandikuppa, Nazma Khan and Kirstie Gordon for INR 10 lakh each. Navgire’s power-hitting gives Delhi another attacking option, while the other recruits add depth to the squad.
Delhi will be keen to respond after finishing as runners-up in the WPL 2026 final. Their retained group includes Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Laura Wolvaardt, Marizanne Kapp and Annabel Sutherland. The squad combines international experience with young Indian talent, and Navgire’s role could be especially significant in the middle order or as a finisher, depending on the team’s preferred batting combination.
Gujarat Giants add three players
Gujarat Giants made three auction signings: wicketkeeper-batter G. Kamalini for INR 40 lakh, Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast for INR 30 lakh and Samaira Raghav for INR 10 lakh. The additions join a squad featuring Ashleigh Gardner, Beth Mooney, Georgia Wareham, Sophie Devine and Renuka Singh.
Prendergast offers the Giants another all-round option, while Kamalini adds wicketkeeping and batting depth. With a core that already includes several international match-winners, Gujarat’s challenge will be to find the right balance and make the most of its new players in specific roles.

What to expect from the new season
The completed squads set up a competitive WPL season, with each franchise taking a different route through the auction. UP Warriorz made the most additions, RCB prioritised continuity, Mumbai Indians spread their budget across six recruits, and Delhi invested heavily in Navgire. Gujarat, meanwhile, added targeted depth to an already experienced group.
These early squad comparisons offer a useful prediction of the season’s storylines, but auction prices alone will not decide results. Player availability, form, match-ups and the ability to adapt during the tournament will matter just as much. With established stars joined by a fresh group of recruits, the WPL 2027 campaign promises plenty of selection battles and new opportunities.
